Governance & Reporting Manager (Operational Resilience)£651.13 per day Umbrella
Edinburgh (Hybrid)
Contract until June 2026
HSBC is currently searching for a Governance & Reporting Manager to join their team in Edinburgh. This role will lead a Governance & Reporting team, ensuring that operational resilience is established as a management priority, and is properly reported through governance channels across both the HCIB entity and individual markets.
This will include defining and maintaining the MI provided within regular reporting, supporting the preparation of governance documentation, and supporting management discussions at both a market, and HCIB level.
Responsibilities:
- Define, and oversee the ongoing delivery of MI to provide an effective overview of operational resilience and demonstrate compliance to both local regulatory requirements and global frameworks, within and across HCIB markets.
- Regularly review MI to produce data insights, identify trends, and common themes. Ensure these insights are properly reported across relevant governance channels and collaborate with the HCIB Vulnerability Management team to ensure these are actioned to improve underlying resilience.
- Lead the preparation of governance reporting to senior HCIB governance committees.
- Support the preparation of governance reporting to local HCIB market governance committees.
- Own standardised governance documentation, identifying opportunities for uplift to enhance management ability to oversee and mange resilience.
- Where required, deliver, or support the presentation of governance reporting to senior stakeholders.
- Track, monitor, and manage to completion any actions captured at Senior HCIB governance committees.
- Contribute to senior management decision-making by use of management information, performance information, analytics, forums and stakeholder feedback.
- Promote a diligent risk management culture across all HCIB governance committees.
- Oversee the design and implementation of a training programme to enable resilience stakeholders to effectively execute their responsibilities.
Experience Required:
- Experience working within Operational Resilience, Risk, Technology, or Controls design & monitoring.
- Good understanding of regulatory standards and concepts within Operational Resilience, IT Risk Management, Business Continuity, and/ or Enterprise Risk Management.
- Experience of designing & implementing governance models as well as operating model design.
- Ability to present complex issues confidentially and concisely to Group Executives, Non-Executives and Regulators using simple language to accommodate globally distributed stakeholders.
- Ability to distil complex and varied information into useful, insightful and concise recommendations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels across the Group and across different cultures.
- Proven ability to lead a team of managers, foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, and establish a delivery-mindset.
- Ability to deliver work and transformation through others.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain a positive, open, and diligent work environment.
- Experience coaching and empowering individuals and support their personal development
