Position Description
Essential Functions:
Security Tasks
1. Assist, develop, and review IT policies, standards, and procedures.
2. Manage the Cybersecurity Awareness program, including coordinating education, developing and promoting IT Security Awareness content, and leading phishing campaigns for the entire company.
3. Track and report metrics for company-wide education and phishing campaigns with comprehensive reports.
4. Measure risk within the vulnerability management program by assessing criticality, severity, and impact of existing threats, and research remediation steps to incorporate into the IT patching program.
5. Create presentations for status meetings and all-hands sessions for both technical and non-technical audiences.
6. Shadow the IT Security Leader, assist with tasks as needed, record key points during meetings, and communicate action items to the IT Security Leader.
IT Tasks
1. Interview and coordinate with IT employees to understand existing protocols and processes and create draft procedure documents based on IT Security requirements and templates.
2. Assist with daily IT support objectives as needed, including remediating vulnerability findings based on severity and asset criticality, and addressing reported phishing emails.
3. Support IT operations by setting up new devices such as workstations, firewalls, servers, and other equipment.
4. Remediate vulnerabilities based on severity and asset criticality priorities
5. Remediate vulnerable reported phishing emails
6. Setup new devices (workstations, firewalls, servers, etc.)
Position Requirements
Requirements, Education and Experience:
- Current enrollment in a college program in Information Technology, Information Security, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, with one or more certifications such as Security+, Network+, A+, or Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900).
- Must have the ability to work independently, take initiative, and proactively learn new skills, with strong motivation to grow and develop new IT Security best practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications and working knowledge of Windows, Linux, and macOS operating systems.
- Understanding of Information Security controls, as well as security education and awareness concepts to help promote best practices across the company.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work well with others and support the IT Security Leader as a key partner.
- Willingness to commit to a minimum one-year internship with Peckham Industries.

Travel:
Position may require up to 5% travel by personal vehicle to offices throughout the state of New York, and New England based on the needs of the business.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
This position operates in a professional office environment and follows a hybrid work model, typically requiring 23 days per week onsite with the remaining days remote, with flexibility as needed. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. While primarily sedentary, the position may involve occasional walking, bending, or standing as necessary. The intern may also be required to travel to off-site locations to provide IT support and maintenance.
